Amelia Lost is a good read and if there is anything I can change, I would touch on what had happen after Amelia’s disappearance. Nonetheless, this book stands out from the other nonfiction books mainly because of the figurative language and suspense the author uses which makes it very interesting to follow the story. Fleming's biographical account also makes this story sounds straightforward, and suspenseful at the same time which can also be difficult to do with an historical life story people knows about already. Fleming presents the impossible in order to make it appealing to the readers and kept them involved in the story. The design of the book makes it easy to follow with the photographs on display throughout the story.
On Amelia’s laptop, she found a Gracefully document saying hurtful things about Amelia’s best friend, parties and other teenage things. Finally Seth comes downstairs and drops a pile of little folded up notes, dozens of them, all saying, “I HATE YOU”. I can just imagine seeing all those notes, and feeling like it could be true, Amelia could have killed herself, someone was bullying her, and why would someone say this to Amelia? She is such a great person, and no one has ever shown signs of anger or hatred towards her. Well even after all those notes, I still believe that Amelia did not kill herself; I will predict just how they will find that out.

When you Know it Have you ever had to make a decision where no matter what you do, it’s still going to end badly? Susan Beth Pfeffer, the author of “Life as we Knew it,” has left an incredible cliffhanger. In “Ashes,” Ashleigh has to steal from her mom to help her dad. Her other option, which is to not steal, which will help her mom, but her dad will get in even more trouble than he already is. In the end though, Ashleigh chooses to help her dad because he spends the most time with her, he’s having Ashleigh steal to help the mom, and she looks up to him.

Although the story may be a bit too complicated it tells a story that can be true and that can actually happen in real life. This story may also have a dark side too it. Anna Cayne did some things that we unforgiveable. She was basically a psychopath in the story.

Many could not believe what Amelia was accomplishing on her own, in a man’s world. Amelia soon became a legend in aviation. Amelia Earhart wasn’t just a great aviator, she was a true American hero.
The realistic fiction story, “Ashes”, by Susan Beth Pfeffer is about a young girl who has two very polar opposite parents. A fun, but irresponsible father, and a practical, proactive mother. Ashes faces a major dilemma when her financially troubled father asks Ashes to steal from her mother’s emergency fund for his own personal needs. Sometimes, the people you love most can be selfish and deceive you. This relates to my story because Ashes’ dad is manipulative, deceptive, and selfish.
The main character Connie, at first didn’t like family at all and was always bothered by them just like Walt and the Lor family. Connie eventually is put into a situation where the man trying to take her named Arnold Friend threatens her family if she doesn’t go with him. Connie then realized what her family means to her and how much she loves them, just like Walt eventually caring for the Lor family. Connie eventually gives in to Arnold Friend and goes with him leaving everything behind and not knowing what will happen to her. Connie sacrificed herself for her family to be safe and not have to deal with the consequences just like Walt did in the film Grand
