The book ¨Million Dollar Throw¨ is a novel that was written by Mike Lupica in 2009. Mike Lupica is a popular sports writer who has written various books about different sports. This book is about a kid named Nate Brodie, a thirteenyearold star quarterback. Nate is a huge New England Patriots fan, but most of all he admires their quarterback, Tom Brady. When Nate was at the store buying an expensive football signed by Tom Brady, the clerk at the mall offered Nate to sign up for a contest. The contest is called the Million Dollar Throw. This contest allows the winner of the drawing to throw a football into a small ring, from thirty yards away, at halftime of the Patriot's game on Thanksgiving night. This is a big change because Nate was starting to stress out and fear was starting to get to him. Before his next game his coach told the team that ¨He'd been benched.¨ This is a big quote because Nate used to be the star quarterback in Massachusetts but now his coaches are disappointed that he is struggling, therefore they took him out the whole game. This was the turning point in the book. "If the stress is blocked out, success will come out", fits the book, Million Dollar Throw, in many ways. Nate is given an opportunity to change not only his life, but also his family and his friend's lives. When Nate is given the chance to win a million dollars, many different stressful situations on and off the football field of stress are piled on top of his shoulders. The situations consist of his best friend going blind, the media constantly following him, and just the pressure of making the throw. When Nate is presented with all of this stress, he is able to block all of it out of his mind and just do what he does best, throw a football. He works to regain his main focus, which is his friendship with his best friend, as well as working hard on the football field. Once he remembers to put his main goals first, he is able to decrease his stress and
