In the article “An Alternative to Progress” by Bill McKibben, the author argues that Bangladesh can significantly improve the country’s economy and infrastructure by mobilizing the technology, capital and integration into global markets. McKibben compares this reasoning to how India improved the country’s economy drastically over the last few years, after gaining independence from Britain. He also argues that Bangladesh should not rely on foreign powers for economic dependency and instead use the plentiful resources in the country to build a strong economy.
