The book is called Anne Frank`s Diary. It was written by Anne Frank published in the Netherlands in 1947. The story takes place in Amsterdam Holland in 1942. during the second world war and the Germans have invaded the country. The main character, Anne, she is a German - Jewish girl who has been raised by her father ( Otto Frank ), her mother ( Edith Frank ), and her sister (Margot Frank). Anne begins to write a diary of their lives in hiding – place in the Secret Annexe, Amsterdam. Because they were Jewish , they moved to Holland in 1933. Her father was the manager of a company that made things for the jam-making business , called Opteka. Things were not so good after 1940. First the war started

On January 27 Otto Frank was liberated and was taken to Odessa and then France before allowing him to return to Amsterdam, in June 1945. In February or March 1945 Anne and Margot both died of Typhus at Bergen – Belsen. Margot was 19 and Anne was 15 Bergen - Belsen was liberated by the Brithish Army. Peter van Daan died in Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria and his mother in the Theresienstadt camp , Czechoslovakia in spring , Only Otto Frank survived of the seven people who hid in the secret annexe , and he recovers Anne `s diary from Miep. that she kept and he decides to fulfill Annne`s wishes by publishing the diary
