The book “Anthem” is a written by Ayn Rand. The genre of the book is Science Fiction. It as if the book is in a utopian world and certain people rule this world. The society of the people in this book is planned out by the high level of rulers. “Anthem” takes place in the future in a place unknown. It is from a man’s “point of view” of how things happened in his life and how he was the change in a this “Utopian world”. Even though the book is in 3rd person, it is like the book is in 1st person. The main character’s name is Equality 7-2521, at 21-year-old male who is the protagonist of the book. Another main character name is Liberty 5-3000, “The Golden One”. Liberty is a 17-year-old female who falls in love with Equality and Equality falls in love with her. …show more content…

He is catching the reader up with what has happened in his life to get to the point is his now. At the age of 21, Equality received the job ‘Street Sweeper’ and his duty was to clean the city’s streets. While sweeping the streets, Equality found this tunnel near the theater. He would go illegally to this tunnel while his “brothers” watched a play that took three hours. During these three hours, he would work on science experiences creating new things and study the manuscripts he stole from the Scholars. This went on for two years. Throughout the two years of studying and doing science experiences, he was still a street sweeper during the day. While working his job, he noticed a beautiful girl walking the streets and fell in love with her over time. Her name was Liberty 5-3000, given the nickname “The Golden One” by
