The title of my book is Ashes, Ashes by Karyn Folan and this is a realistic fiction story about a fallout. The main character is Liam and he wants to get himself his sister lily and a couple of his friends to a mountain bunker to be safe from a fallout that's about to happen. This story takes place in washington DC and Liam has to get himself and his sister Lilly, along the way he also picks up two of his best friends Mrs. Standish and Amaranth Jones. These to were friends Liam had at John F. Kennedy High. After he gathered these people he had to make a 200 mile trek to the mountain to get Lily and his friends to safety. What he wasn't expecting was the Nuclear bomb to hit so soon which caused the fallout. This made his journey even harder and he had to walk past all these people desperate survivors to get to safety where he hoped to find his mom and dad at. …show more content…
This conflict was a Person vs. Society because after the fallout people were desperate for help from anyone who was able to walk and was in good shape. This is what made the journey so hard for Liam and his group to make it to the bunker at the hill because people would stop them and ask for help and people were robbing each other and it was complete chaos. This would be an external conflict because the conflict is not in Liam mind. The most climatic part of this story was towards the end when the group was weak and about to give up they finally see the bunker but as the approach it , it seems like no one was alive. They walked up to the door and started knocking on it and no answer , they were about to walk away when a very familiar voice opens the
