towards the end of the story Marty changes for the worst and is considered a bully because of the actions he had done. for example he physically hurts the new kid. "Aw sock the yellowbelly" Marty heard Gelberg say and he smacked the kid as hard as he could on the shoulder" (Heyert 7), shows that Marty is bullying the new kid physically and is following the foot steps of his peers. "...his fist caught the kid on the mouth with a hard, wet, socking sound. The shock of his knuckles against the kid's mouth, and that sound of it, made Marty want to hit him again. he put his head down and began swinging wildly, hitting the new kid without any aim on the head and shoulders and arms" (Heyert 7), which shows that Marty is reckless with his actions.
