Anthem is a good book about the future and their own versions of a Utopian society. This novel is all about independence and how options are limited. The question asked is if you think Equality’s eventual assessment of his sins is correct. My answer to this question is, he felt as if his sins taught him more.
In Anthem by Ayn Rand International 4-8818 agrees to keep Equality 7-2521’s secret of the tunnel under the ground because much like Equality 7-2521, International 4-8818 is different than the rest of the people in the place they live in. This is because while Equality 7-2521 explains how he found the hole that led to the tunnel he talks about International 4-8818 and explains that, “they are a tall, strong youth and their eyes are like fireflies, for there is laughter in their eyes. Society tends to disagree with Ayn Rand’s political views regarding the concept of how a government should be controlled. Despite people contradicting with her beliefs, some politicians recognize her perspective and utilize her logic in debates. Of the politicians that support Rand’s political views, most derive their logic from one of Rand’s widely known novels, Anthem. This particular dystopian novel emphasizes a collective society where the simple thinking of individual choice is prohibited. Rand Paul, a Kentucky senator of the republican party, was influenced by Anthem in such a way that he utilized this book in a debate he took part in back in 2007 which lasted until 2013.
The possibility of an Anthem-like future is very possible. In the novella, Anthem, by Ayn Rand, the world is reset after a great destruction called The Great Rebirth, which causes everyone to have to start from the beginning and discover the importance of identity. Ayn Rand’s dystopian novel, Anthem, the society in the book is taught from birth to think only in plural which has gone so far that the words such as “I” was abolished and anyone who would say or do anything alone would be punished/ burned. The main character, Equality 7-2521, discovers light for the first time. Equalities discoveries and experiments helped him first start to question his existence. After the discovery of light and electricity he brings it to the house of scholars where it gets turned down which sends him on a path of running away and a steep slope to selfishness.
I, Prometheus the father of all this society hereby leave another chapter of the anthem. We live a peaceful life on the outskirts of the other civilization. Others of this previous society have found our people, Therefore leaving them no choice but to be a new member of community. We had to take a vote and all came up with the same idea: if someone is punished, the punishment should be equal to the crime. If someone steals then something equal in value will be taken from them.
Some people are filled with an insatiable desire to learn. In “Anthem” by Ayn Rand, the main character, Equality 7-2521, wants nothing more than to study the Science of Things and become a Scholar. Although this is forbidden for a Street Sweeper like him, he does research in isolation. He wants to join the Scholars because he is intelligent, inquisitive, and always driven to learn about the way things around him work.
Well-known American author Ayn Rand in her short novel, Anthem, describes a post-apocalyptic world where individualism has vanished. Anthem’s society is dystopian world where all human advancements and technology are absent. Individualism is seen as a sin and is shunned by the citizens. The citizens have been stripped of any solitary rights and only live to serve their brothers around them. Equality was a City Street Sweepers that had always been told that he was different from his brothers; both mentally and physically. Nevertheless, he still worshiped the principles of his world like the people around him.

Why Anthem is a Dystopia The story Anthem is a bias and raw story. It has many ups and downs and life lessons to learn. Ayn rand is trying to tell the reader that being a follower cannot benefit you all the time. Anthem is definitely a dystopia. It is a dystopia because the way the people were treated, the setting is in the future and it is a collectivist society.
Ayn Rand’s Anthem gives an interesting take on what a society without a sense of individualism would look like. The main character of this book, Equality 7-2521, struggles with his life when he wants to take off on his own path and express his personal ideas, however everyone else meets these ideas with anger and skepticism. Everyone has been persuaded to believe that everybody is equal and no one has the right to have individualised thoughts. Equality 7-2521’s thirst for knowledge helps him break out of these chains. His desire to learn leads him to branch out and explore new things, helping him form new individualised thoughts.
