MY BOOK PROJECT I read the book “My brother Sam is dead” that was wrote by the Author James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier. It is a Historical Fiction book wrote during the American Revolutionary war. This book is about a boy named Timothy Meeker that lived in Connecticut. Tim's father is a Loyalist at great Britain but Sam (Tim’s older teenage brother) came home from Yale and announced that he joined the Continental Army to fight against the British. His Father was outraged and yelled and fought with him like they normally did and Sam ran away and hid in a little hut for a little while.
In the historical fiction novel, My Brother Sam is Dead, by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier, Tim learns that no matter what side of war you are on it is still bloody and horrid and should be avoided. In the exposition of the novel, Tim Meeker, is a tweenaged boy who is a hard working boy caught in the middle of the American Revolution. As the conflict develops, Tim faces the challenge of surviving the war and staying out of trouble while still trying to decide what side of the war he was on. In the rising action of the story, Tim Meeker, watches his brother, Sam Meeker, announce that he left college and signed up to fight in the war on the patriots side.
BLOOD SIMPLE’s mise-en-scene starts off with the lighting of the car ride, it is dark, the characters’ are draped in shadows, the outside world is a blur, and the mood is being set for the follow on scenes. BLOOD SIMPLE’s opening composition also establishes a central theme for the audience that this movie will be gloomy, have immoral implications and be filled with betrayal. The lighting in the movie is constant throughout with heavy shadows, low backlighting, which is until the last scene where the light brightens as the action falls. Key props were found throughout the film, however one of the major props was Abby’s hand gun.

That is a jarring reality very prominent in Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers. It is a lesson soldier Richard Perry learns all too well on his journey from innocent young boy to Vietnam veteran.

Creating a suspenseful movie without it becoming boring, or creating a funny movie that’s not full of cheap jokes are both feats in their own right but the Coen brothers were able to combine the two into there one with their knockout debut Blood Simple. Blood Simples editing creates a suspenseful neo noir film that is full of dramatic irony. The audience knows going on behind the scenes but the characters don 't and they keep making the worst choices. The first edit I will look at in the film is when Marty breaks into Rays house and grabs hold of Abby.
Based on a true event mixed with some fiction "Who Killed Christopher Goodman" written by Allan Wolf is based on a murder. Christopher Goodman the new kid from California that everyone likes, yet was murdered the night of Deadwood Days. The book is set to be late summer in a Virginia town in the year of 1979, everyone was excited for the upcoming Deadwood Days, but who would have thought that the night of the first day a high schooler would get murdered. Days before Deadwood Days Christopher moved into town and got to know Doc Chestnut, Squid Kaplan, Hunger McCoy, Hazel Turner, and Mildred Penny, he impacted each of the characters life one way or another. Goodman was the nice kid, even though he was a bit strange, he wore some crazy bell bottoms and would love to say the word "ennui", also he was always willing to lend a hand to whoever needed it.
In the novel, A Tale of Two Cities, the connection that Dickens makes between blood and wine represents death and violence, but also shows the life that can be found in even the darkest of times. When Dickens first takes the scene to the streets of Paris, a wine barrel has tipped and broken apart on the stones. The people make a desperate dash to lap it up, using their hands, tongues, and rags to soak it all up. It is a kind of bright spot in their day; a break from the monotony and depression. As soon as it is gone, they return to their former positions of boredom and gloom.
