In Blood of Tyrants, the author Beirne depicts the life of a nation's hero who led a country through a revolution in order to establish a republic and protects people's life, liberty and pursue of happiness. This man was George Washington, the first president of the United States. In today's nation, the American people take for granted the liberties offered today. In order to achieve these liberties and civil rights, blood shed had to be spilled all across the nation. George Washington is said to have fought through the worst of the worst encounters in wars. “I now exist and appear in the land of the living by miraculous care of Providence, that protected me beyond all human exception; I had 4 bullets through my coats, two horses shot under me, and just escaped unhurt.” George Washington (158). His humble ways also paved a way to the American people, as he never forgot for whom he was fighting for the cause. “George Washington's action as a leader in wartime demonstrated the morals and practical truths on which these nation was founded.” (319). “His ways were the ways of truth. His influence grows. In his wisdom of actions, in purity of character he stands alone.” (311). Indeed, Washington's strong leadership was the reason for the cause to be validated. If it had not been for Washington's persistence and termination, this country would of still be under Britain control. In the revolution, he set out with his army for nine years fighting for the liberties of the people and always putting himself last. He not only succeeded in achieving leadership, but also setting an example for future leaders. His devotion for his men and the people gave him a legacy that marked him forever in the history books. The authors depicted Washington as a war hero imagine to illustrates why he was the reason a republic exists today. While sometimes congress, the people and even his own army were willing to give up the fight, George Washington was willing to fight by himself even if he had to and die for the American cause. His determination allowed for the cause to stay alive, and motivated a whole country to keep on fighting. In my opinion, being so resourceful as well as humble is what made him a great man in the history
