Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell is a story is set in the future, in a world where corporations rule at the expense of individuals. Clones, called fabricants, were created as a type of servants for the upperclass. The fabricants are not suppose to be able to have a personality. One such fabricant is, Sonmi-451, who was a former dinner server. The start of the chapter is an interview between Sonmi-451 and a pureblood who works for a ministry, whose name is Archivist. The xecs at the Ministry of Unanimity insisted that you, as a heretic, had nothing to offer corpocracy’s archives but sedition and blasphemy.” (page 189) Mitchell uses complex language and language that he thought up for his story. Using language conveys Mitchell’s purpose because he uses specific language to express issues
