Dr. Martin Luther King says an unjust law is a code that a numerical or power majority group compels a minority group to obey but does not make binding on itself. He then says that a just law is a code that a mojority compels a minority to follow and that is willing to follow itself. Basically what King is saying is that the white people make laws for the minority groups which are African Amercians to obey, but the laws does not apply to them which is 'unjust' or not fair. He then is saying that a just law is a law created that everyone follows not just a minority group and that is fair for everyone. King also says that there are differences between law and morality. An unjust law is a law that doesn't agree with the laws of God, and is out of harmony with moral laws. King belives that segregation is a type of unjust because it distorts the soul and damages the personality, and it also gives the segregator the false sense of superiority which is unfair and goes against the moral law.In Kings letter he says that the opressor wants him to wait until the time is right to take action into becoming segregated. I think that Kings ideas weren't untimely, but they were not important enough to the operssors to be dealt with at the moment. The opressor did not want him and our people to have justice.
