Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln walked into the presidential booth late at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Good Friday, April 14, 1865. This chapter starts with Greg returned to America and he gave a presentation to people in Minnesota about his journey of K2 but there were only three people, he was donated with ten dollars and an unknown envelope with twelve thousand dollars. When editors wrote about Greg and his mission, many people acknowledge and wanted to hear about him more, he got more recognition and donation as well. Although he was doing good at his job, CAI was not happy with his management at all and requested Greg to hire assistant, but he did not want to waste money on an assistant. Greg was tricked into spending times with an old lonely lady and a guy in exchange of some donations, but he received nothing back. Greg focused too much on his work that he did not
He and Peggy kept moving around and “after six years of failure in New Brunswick, they returned to London, and failed there, too” (Sheinkin). The world was closing in on him and that which made him realize that he made the wrong decision essentially to join the British for his own self-centered
He is the friend of Drey’s older brother Mike, who got locked up for dealing drugs for Frank. He feels a responsibility to Drey to watch over her and provide for her and her mother. At the same time, Frank wants Drey to start learning how to move his product and become a dealer herself. During the school dance, Dunne confronted Frank as they both offered Drey a ride home. The initial reaction is that Dunne has never met Frank before yet he is so adamant about not allowing Drey to get into the car with him.
The townspeople believe it’s not his problem anymore and wanted to defend against Frank alone. This notion does input the ideas on what people morality and control of the hold of belief in the first place. His new wife Amy, is a Quaker, who does not believe in violence to solve problems. The reason she became a Quaker, her father and brother were killed by guns with violence.
Immoral Money It is evident that the American Dream is just an unreachable ambition and that people are destined to languish in their journey for money, love, and happiness. Everyone soon learns that the American Dream is just pretending to be the American Nightmare. This is seen in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It follows wealthy Americans on their trek for the American Dream.
In “On the Rainy River” Tim struggles to make a decision on whether he should fight for his country in the war or flee to Canada. Tim did not believe in the war. He was an innocent young man, freshly graduated from college with a naive view of the world. “Both my conscience and my instincts were telling me to make a break for it, just take off and run like hell and never stop.” (Page 3/Paragraph 8)
Frank was one of the most interesting characters for me, and his purpose of inclusion is to show that excellent grades and an ivy league college don’t suddenly add up to happiness once you’re past high

The American Dream is the belief that anyone, regardless of race, class, gender, or nationality, can be successful in America if they just work hard enough. The American Dream presents a view of the American society in which ignores racism problems, income inequality, etc. In the 1920’s, it was a very difficult and resulting time for the American Dream. Due to increased immigration, changing women’s roles, and a extraordinary income inequality. The country was also in the midst of an economic boom, which fueled the belief that anyone could “strike it rich”.
After the Great Depression in 1929, America’s economy was devastated. The increase of farming across the Great Plains states caused the precious soil to erode, turning the once fertile grassland to a desert like Dust Bowl. Hundreds of farmers and workers migrated to California in search of jobs aiming for the American Dream. The American Dream is the hopes and the goals of the characters in which they can obtain a better life through their hard work. In Of Mice and Men, the American Dream is portrayed to be extremely vital for the men as it serves as their motivation, yet ultimately proves to be unattainable through the memorable characters of Lennie, George and Curley’s wife.
He can finally live with knowing he had finally found the redemption he was looking for his whole entire
He was very scared to spend his whole life behind bars, and far away from home because he realized that the consequences of his acts lead to a life without freedom. He regretted the get away from his family; he regretted to take advantage of every person he fooled. For good behavior, he was given one chance by the Swedish judge which gave him his American passport back and sent him to the United States where authorities were waiting for him. In the United States, Frank was given twelve years to serve in Federal Correction Institution in Petersburg, Virginia where he only served four years and then was release with a parole in Huston, Texas. Even that he was observed twenty for hours seven days a week, his outlaw life died on France.
