The law has dictated what is allowable within the realm of euthanasia. Dr. Jack Kevorkian is the most infamous physician associated with euthanasia. MacKinnon and Fiala state “For eight years, starting in 1990, Kevorkian assisted more than 100 suicides” (Physician-Assisted Suicide). His role was active though and he used a variety of methods. He did not get into trouble with the law until he submitted a recording of him administering a lethal injection to a patient. He was charged with second degree murder and sentenced 10 to 25 years. Some previous physicians spoke out against Dr. Kevorkian stating that not all his patients were terminally ill. This is the slippery slope that J. Gay-Williams talks about in his piece titled The Wrongfulness
