Jack the Ripper is one of the most infamous notorious serial killers in the world. In August to September of 1888, he harassed the Whitechapel district in London’s East End. What was Whitechapel district in London’s east end one may say? It is believed to be where all the criminals were populated. Many people living in London’s East End at the time were very poor. There isn’t much to Fogelma’s story here except that he was crazy. He would talk to himself about instances that happened from the murders in 1888. Fogelma also had a sister named Helen Fogelma. In Geoff Cooper’s Jack the Rippers Suspects: Fogelma, He believes that “In an article published in the Empire News of 23 October 1923, Fogelma was named as being Jack the Ripper. The article tells a story about a Norweigan sailor, originally from Arendal, who was committed to a lunatic asylum in Morris Plains, New Jersey, in 1899” (Fogelma, 2003). What Coopers assumption is that since he was committed to a lunatic asylum in New Jersey in 1899, He had something to do with the murders that happened in Whitechapel in London. He probably could have been insane. Cooper claims that Fogelma "muttered of scenes and incidents that connected him clearly with the atrocious crimes of 1888" (Fogelma, 2003). Anyone who mutters or recalls scenes that vividly should be questioned, he was then immediately linked to the Jack the Ripper murders. Fogelma later died in 1902. Morris Plains Lunatic asylum still exists just under a different name, but in their records of keeping show that Fogelma was never admitted there or any trace of his sister Helen as well. So I’ve come the conclusion the Fogelma is not Jack the
