The article “Homeless on Campus”, by Eleanor J. Bader, speaks about college students being homeless. In the article, the author makes a point that the subject of homeless college students is not a regular topic being discussed. She has in her article that college students that are homeless don’t usually come forward about being homeless and that everyone has a different situation on how they got that way. In the article, it says students come apply for help them. She has supporting evidence that in the United States, it is almost impossible for a person, let alone a young struggling college student to pay for a housing. In the article, it talks about how the schools don’t have enough help for students that are homeless and struggling. The author has three different young college student’s stories and how they are homeless, and struggle they have making each day going to college work for them while having many obstacles. By having the different stories, I think it shows the audience that there are different situations that can put a young person in the position of being homeless. I think it also shows that these young homeless students pushing through all obstacles against them to better their lives by getting an education. I think Bader does an excellent job by including the 3-young people in her article. I also think the research she does on how many students apply for help shows the perspective on how they don’t ask for help. She does great by also saying young college students who are homeless usually don’t come out with their stories until later. I also thought tying in the article about staff members stepping up and helping out homeless students, to help them succeed shows compassion for someone wanting to better their life by trying to get an
