On Punishment and Teen killers In the fiction article “ On Punishment and Teen Killers” Jennifer Jenkins argues and reviews the position that the author has according debate about teens and crimes. She believes that a lot of teenager committed have serious crime. She’s also, argues that development brain are not reason for crime. She is also against advocates that are against the JLWOP.which means Juvenile Life Without Parole, At the beginning of the article she was youngest sister and her husband murdered in Chicago, offender who testified at his trial “ thrill kill” that he just want to “ see what it would feel like to shoot someone”.
At Seventeen Short Response In the short story “At Seventeen” by Sheila Morehead, symbolism, conflict and characterisation has been used to construct the character “youth” as a complicated and independent surfer. Internal and external conflict has been utilised by Sheila to portray the youth as complicated and independent. Through out the story the youth has had to overcome many obstacles such as communicating and letting people into his own world. This shows the reader that he is very complicated and not a stereotypical teenage boy.
In the article “ On punishment and teen killers” by Jennifer Jenkins argues that 1,300 cases nationally of a teen killer sentenced as an adult to life, sometimes called JLWOP. Jenkins supports her argument by first explain the cases for example, when a teenager murdered her and her husband in 1990 in Chicago. When i read this paragraph i was sad because why would you want to kill your own husband like what is the reason why she did that. I think it was because the husband did something bad like cheating on his wife or because she went crazy like her mind was telling her to kill him. This is another example a high school teacher said that it's hard to think that a young teen could do a bad crime and without parole.

An article in the Teen Tribune tells how a 3-year-old black bear was captured at an elementary school in Bakersfield. The bear was first seen wandering around on school property and it not only interrupted the last day of school but, also a graduation ceremony that was being held at a middle school close by. The bear spotting caught everyone by surprise and soon all students that were outside were sent back to their classrooms as the bear started to come closer. And even though the bear kept its distance and nobody was in harm’s way, the authorities were called. It didn’t take long for the officers to get there, and when they did they cornered the bear, captured it and released it into the wild.

In the op-ed “The Joy of Communal Girlhood, the Anguish of Teen Girls” by Jessica Bennett (New York Times 12/22/2023) she claims that girlhood masks the reality of being a girl yet, over the course of the article, explores the idea of girl trends having a positive impact.
