people think that breaking some rules is no big
Many people may not agree with the author and think that if they do something against the law no matter if little, they will not get caught
Everyone in the book is expected to follow these extremely strict rules. These rules exist because the government does not want “ordinary” people to out-smart them. The government did not want the truly brilliant people thinking that they were more superior than the
In Jason Reynold's novel Long Way Down, it states, “Another thing about the rules. They weren't meant to be broken. They were made for the broken to follow” (35). This quote essentially means that no one ever breaks “The Rules” because the only people who follow them are broken
In the articles “Don’t Blame the Eater”, by David Zinczenko and “What You eat is Your Business”, by Radley Balko both authors discuss how the government should have restrictions on fast foods, that are readily available to the public. Each of the author’s arguments are very effective and seem to establish a balance of ethos, pathos, and logos which make it easier for the reader to believe. In the article “Don’t Blame the Eater” the author David Zinczenko, writes about how some children and their parents are suing McDonalds because it is making them fat. Zinczenko uses ethos to point out that, only one family cannot say eating fast food is making them fat.
There are numerous amounts of people who eat fast food but do not realize the horrible effects it has on their body each time they indulge. It is hard to believe that some people are at such a loss of personal responsibility that they completely disregard even attempting to eat different and healthier foods. Throughout our lives as busy fast food buyers it is important that we become more aware about what we are putting into our bodies. We only have one body, we must feed it
The book, Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser, is about “The Dark Side of the All-American Meal”. Fast food in America is not as good as it seems. Most customers don’t know that by eating this food, they are putting their health at a serious risk. You only see the good side of things, but never the bad. Fast food chains are now in control.
Rules In the article “How Unwritten Rules Circumscribe Our Lives” by Bob Greene, he explain about there are rules in people life’s that isn’t written or its just human objective. There are things in our life that we are not supposed to do or common sense things, for example when the man was shouting in the restaurant. In a restaurant or while people are eating there is a general rules or manners about not raising his voice. After he raises his voice, everyone looked at him and stopped eating.
t can be argued that that there are rules for a reason, and they should never be broken. But, there are some scenarios in which it is a necessity to break them. It is appropriate to challenge the rules when the rules are unjust, meaning unfair or not necessary, or against your beliefs, especially religious beliefs, or values. It is appropriate to challenge the rules when the rules or laws at hand contradict your beliefs or morals.
Rule- treating others the way you would want to be treated. Scout asks Atticus if it's okay to hate Hitler. Atticus responses by saying, “It’s not okay to hate anybody” (330). Although Hitler has done some horrible things, Atticus thinks that it is unacceptable to hate that person. For example, if you don’t want people to hate you, then don’t hate them.
Why then, should we have a law that attempts to enforce against our normal behavior? Though, we already have laws that restrict certain behaviors such as theft, but they shouldn’t limit morality that far. When strangers take time out of their day to save someone, they did it out of moral goodness, not because they were forced to do so by a law. The average person doesn’t immediately think about what law they may or may not be breaking; they act according to the situation and the people around them. [concluding sentence]
For our group and our shared love of food we figured that a social norm that had something to do with that would be perfect for us. We decided that the norm to drive through a drive thru needed to be tested. Why should cars be the only ones with the fast access to fast food at their convenience? We believed that people should be able to walk through the drive thrus if it is more convenient for them.
Will realizes maybe The Rules aren’t 100% accurate for every situation. Now that Will is starting to see The Rules not being used, he questions them. Will says, “The Rules are The Rules/ right?” (296), this shows that he is finally questioning The Rules and deciding whether or not to follow through with them. This is the first time we see him start to question the societal norms of his city and find his own path, breaking rule number 3.
If you are a female you do not have to worry about getting caught, because if you have a purse, you can just sneak your food into the movie theaters while it is in your purse. If you have a small purse, the only thing you can sneak into the movies is a mint or peppermint. A big purse can carry large food. Lets say if the people at the food stand do not give you more butter on your popcorn. Next time, you can just sneak your own bag of popcorn with extra butter into the theaters.
