In John B. Cobb Jr.’s essay, he writes about his theology of the doctrine of God. Cobb writes about Christianity as monotheistic as there is one God who has three persons. He describes the first person as God, the creator who has power over all including the other two persons of the Trinity. Colossians 1:15-17 says, “15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him, all things hold together.” These verses show how the second person of God, the son is just as powerful and responsible for all things. Psalm 33:6 mentions how the Holy Spirit or the third person of God is also present and powerful over all things. It reads, “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host.” Scripture shows us that every part of the trinity works together, and one part does not overpower the
