Life is a beach, written by Esther O’Neale, the poem speaks of the different perspectives of two individuals. While on vacation, the tourist, taken aback by the scenic beauty compares life with a beach, carefree. The local engaged in conversation with the tourist, thinks this statement is absurd, and disagrees. The theme of the poem is, enjoy life. Consider the opinion of the tourist who casts all worries aside to enjoy life. However, the local thinks with all the social, emotional and economic problem how can a person embrace life, when it is so cruel to many.

Stressing over things that are beyond our control of can take up most of our time, and more problems will be added to those that are already existing. It takes away nothing if we stop and take a break from the unexpected downside of life, to appreciate what we have before it is too late.
