Lipstick Jihad, a memoir written by Azadeh Moaveni, a journalist of Iranian origin, born and living as a part of the Iranian diaspora in California. Moaveni documents her experiences and struggles of finding a place to call home. Her search for identity as an Iranian American and not fully feeling connected with one of the cultures pushes her to explore her Iranian side in hopes to connect with her “Iranianness.”
Moaveni travelled to Iran as a journalist working for Time magazine in Tehran. While Moavani is writing her personal journey of identity search and for a place to call home, she also analyzes the changes Iran is witnessing both in culture and politics.
