Matthew Yan, in his published piece, “CulinArt is cool, can it continue to captivate?” argues whether or not we made the right choice in choosing Culinart as the business to serve stony brook students with food . Yan’s purpose is to convey the idea that, much of the Culinart’s food choice are not in variety with the people of Stony Brook and that they should make adjustments to how the food system functions around campus. He adopts an persuasive tone in order to appeal to students the issues of the food served to them and to show the business the changes they have to make. Culinary Art is the problem because it is a catering service that is not fully executing its responsibility on maintain adequate services, quality food, and great customer services for students and faculties at Stony Brook. . “The changes CulinArt has made to dining on campus have provided a host of other problems students, including myself, are complaining about. For instance, the decision to convert Roth Cafe from a dine-in location into an entirely retail option has caused logistical issues.” Implication of pathos is shown since there is a need of variety for the different diets in stony brook,the limit options from retails and many people getting food poisoning especially during the summer of this year. It also reveals ethos since the author is implying that what the food previous caters and this one as well provided, harmful food. Thus, showing his reflecting his morals. Since it is obvious that no humans should go through the treatment of deserving food that can possible get them ill, especially since they are paying loads of money or even taking out loans just so they can trust catering companies like Culinary Arts to provide them with necessities to
