On the second night of March in 2016 in the quaint city of Burlington, Iowa, the body of 16-year-old Kedarie Johnson was found stuffed in an alley with two gunshots to the chest, a plastic bag shoved down his throat, and a bottle of bleach by his side. His murder in cold blood triggered a cascade of events that led to the murder trials of two men, questionable and controversial federal involvement backed by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and new light shed on continuing debates of gender identity inclusivity policies and legislature in the justice system. The Victim and His Murderers: Context A “popular junior, known for his infectious laugh and dazzling grin,” (Davey, 2017) Kedarie was an admired member of his community whose sudden death shook the inconsequential city he’d lived in. His family moved from the West Side of Chicago in hopes of a better future to the predominantly white area.

Suspicion then turned toward Lizzie, since her older sister Emma was out of the home at the time of the murders. During her four hours of examination, Lizzie did not remember where she was during the day of the murder. At first she claimed that she was never upstairs but later she said she had been upstairs a few times. She upheld a frustrating police interviewee, giving confused and contradictory answers to investigators. She was home when both murders occurred, but somehow didn’t hear or see a thing.
Serial Killer Whisperer by Pete Earley The Serial Killer Whisperer was a very well written book. It had many interesting facts about Tony Ciaglia and Serial Killers. I personally love how it takes you into the mind of the 15-year-old boy Tony, the minds of serial killers. I feel like the central point of this book is that Tony becomes fascinated with serial killers and then starts to ask the question can I be like them because of my TBI? When they begin writing each other you hear a lot of talk about how these killers believe, they are who they are because of either a mental illness or a brain injury, or because their parents did not love them enough, they were beaten or
The Murder of the Hollywood Starlet A young hollywood starlet was brutally murdered in 1947 with no killer identified to this day. This is real case that still puzzles investigators today. The woman in question was named Elizabeth Short, but is more widely known as the “Black Dahlia.” She was given this nickname by the press because of the sheer, black clothing she tended to wear (“The Black Dahlia Murder - Read All about it in FBI Records.”).
For many years now scientists have questioned over the historic Neolithic man named Otzi the famous iceman. It’s told that Otzi was a 4,000-year prehistoric Neolithic man who was found by two German tourists hiking up the Ötztal Alps, nicknamed from Ozti, on September 19, 1991. Up to this very day, there is research being held over the fact of if Otzi was murdered or if it was an accident. From the information that has been shown over years of research, I have come to my conclusion the Otzi was in fact murdered by a group of people. I say that Otzi was murdered, it was clearly no accident from information that I have seen and heard from.

In Iris Chang’s The Rape of Nanking, Mrs. Chang gives light into a subject not very commonly known that occured in December of 1937 and extended to January of the following year, the event was around four to six weeks in length, and claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands and thousands more were mutilated, raped, tortured and killed. Mrs. Chang’s purpose of writing this text is to expose to the world an event not very well known, a Holocaust preceding that of the Jews. She does this by stating the issue of what caused this tragic and horrific event, in this case, the cause of why the Japanese did this is extreme nationalism. Mrs. Chang not only talks about the events that happened during those six weeks, but also of the safe zone created
Hall-Mills Murder The Hall-Mills murder the unsolved murder of Reverend Edward W. Hall and choir singer Eleanor Mills. Guess God did not want these two souls on this Earth anymore. The couple was found dead by a local apple orchard in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The murderer has not yet been identified and may never be identified. The mystery behind the Hall-Mills murder can be summed up in two theories, the first one being that Mr. Hall’s wife, Frances Hall, killed the couple alone.
Black Dahlia Murder In 1947 the tragic loss of Elizabeth Short shocked many people all over the world. This wasn’t your typical murder, this murder had to have been planned out and thought about for a while before its happening. The “Black Dahlia Murder” is the biggest unsolved case in Los Angeles and is still an undergoing investigation. I have reason to believe that Dr. Gorge Hodel is the murderer behind the brutality of Elizabeth Short’s body.
