Today the task of searching for food became a lot easier comparing to times, when the only way you would be able to have meat for a dinner and/or lunch was hunting. Majority people buy their food, although there are still many who grows their own and/or hunt for it. The supermarkets of USA are filled with customers every day, offering variety of different options. Interestingly, the sections dedicated to organic products start to appear more often in stores others than “Wholefoods”. The fact that organic food is completely non-GMO makes the use of pesticides a requirement due to plants decreased resistance. Unfortunately, the disadvantages of organic farming do not end on the use of pesticides. The entire impact of organic production on the environment also includes higher greenhouse gas emissions from producing organic milk, pork or cereals. Also, because more of organic farming is now being done by big corporations due to the increased public interest and greater profits, the use of big machinery leads to higher pollution. The use of manure-fertilizer by organic farmers creates bigger problems. If a crop had touched a manure-based fertilizer, it should not be harvested for a period of four month at least.
