If young people enroll in the program, they will benefit in several different ways. Throughout the program, young people will learn leadership and life skills. By applying these skills in real life, the youth will get an idea of what they might like to do after they graduate from high school. This will help them to set career goals. These kinds of programs will help our communities to have a higher percentage of people who are gainfully employed and who will build up our cities. These kinds of programs will also help to reduce violence in our communities. For example, in the report, it summarizes that “while some programs cover these topics through lessons, workshops, and reflection, all program activities reduce the risk of participant involvement by providing youth an outlet to get off the streets and away from the violence. Participants also learn about drugs, alcohol, and positive body images.” By enrolling in a program like this, young people will be able to know what is not right for them and to avoid doing dangerous things.
