John Freeman wrote an essay called “Not so Fast” and in his essay he explains his different options about modern technology and how he feels about these changes in our world. He describes how fast our modern world is changing and how technology speeds our learning process. The three main points to his essay are speed matters, the physical world matters, and context matters. Although communication and more is becoming a simpler task, I agree with Freeman that technology is becoming out of control because it has taken over some aspects of life and the environment is becoming less important to the U.S. The one and only time I have baby-sat in my life was about a year ago for a family friend’s, kids. The older of the two boys was about 5 or 6 years old and the entire time I was there babysitting, the boy was playing and watching movies on the family’s I-pad. He states that there are a lot of technologies that would work with extreme rapidity but it is too dangerous for us to use them.
