In “Things Fall Apart” Ch 12, there is a uri for Obierika's daughter the next day. Uri’s are a ritual in which the suitor is expected to present palm oil to each person in the bride’s immediate family, her relatives, and the extended group of kinsmen. Everybody is invited, children, women, and men. Ojiugo and Nwoye’s mother got their gifts ready along with their children, and where ready to set out for Obierika’s compound with their children. Ekwefi, who was still tired from the night's journey; which they had just returned from not to long ago, patiently waits for Ezinma to wake up. She asks the other wife’s to tell Obierika’s wife why her and Ezinma where going to be late. The only people that knew that Okonkwo had also followed the Oracle was Ekwefi. He waited a good amount of time that he thought was “manly”. He then went straight to the cave, and in return found nobody there. He went back to his obi and waited for a while before returning. He made four trips in total before finding Ekwefi sitting outside the cave.
Obierika’s place is very lively with activity. Several people are in the village helping to prepare the great feast. While preparing, a cow was let loose by a child and the women had to go put it up. Chielo said “We cannot

To help Okonkwo with starting a new life they give him a plot of land to build his compound, and a few pieces of land to use for a farm. Starting over is hard for his family. Okonkwo works hard, but it no longer gives him pleasure. He has always wanted to be one of the lords of Umuofia, but with what just happened, that dream seems to be no more.He tries to work, but he finds no happiness in doing so. An old man, Uchendu, noticed that Okonkwo has yielded to despair. On the second day, Okonkwo gets told that he can not give in to despair, He must resolve that to keep on living and to not give up, of him and his family will die in
