In his argumentized article, Political Strategist Reed Galen argues that Americans are not taking these current tragedies seriously, and are beginning to dismiss them as if they are a normal thing. Reed Galen supports his argument by stating examples on how people are beginning to treat these tragedies and explain how the respond to them today. Galen's purpose is to inform the reader that people should actually take action on these situations instead of going to social media to give their condolences. Galen uses a serious tone to appeal to all Americans that they have to begin doing something to help. He uses both an example and fact at one point when explaining that whenever a large amount of people began to die from car crashed elected leaders made sure that seatbelts were mandated, but when people began to die of gun violence they fail to make any change. Galen moves on to use a metaphor by saying guns are the biggest political football which is used to explain that gun violence is the main topic of issue right now, but people are struggling to deal with them because people are exercising their Second Amendment rights. Galen uses loaded diction when describing the federal government by using the word tyranny to explain the point of view that people with guns, just to say they own one, see towards them. He also uses irony towards towards the people who are toting guns because they are the same as people who say they believe in "law and order", but when it actually comes into play against them they shift sides, and are going against it. In this section he uses an ironic tone to have the reader think that the type of people who are toting guns are comedic when the role is switched on them in situations such as cameras watching them in public
