Summary Of Storytelling In Fiction Vs. Marketing By Kameron Hurley
273 Words2 Pages
A Fantastical Librarian published the lecture "On Making People Care: Storytelling in Fiction vs. Marketing" by the fiction writer, Kameron Hurley. Hurley states that fiction and marketing are two different types of writing. In fiction, people can give suggestions but the author does not have the obligation to accept them. On the other hand, in marketing the author is the last one in the decision hierarchy. Sometimes, marketers share their ideas and writings without knowing the results of them. However, Hurley claims that marketing projects are successful with team effort and the ideas of each individual. Hurley says, "One of the big things these two types of work have in common is that my goal in both is to make people care about something."
