Ronda Reynolds from childhood was determined to become the first Washingtonian state trooper. Although she had high dreams she barely had a chance to explore them. Ronda did not have good taste in men and for that reason she was divorced once and almost completed a second one. On the last night of her second marriage, she was found with gun shot in the head. The county police department declared it a suicide; however, her mother, Barb Thompson, never truly accepted that her daughter committed suicide. The book is mostly about the 11 year crusade of Barb Thompson to clear her daughter 's name.
