“We conclude that in the field of public education, The doctrine of ‘separate but equal Has No Place” says Earl Warren. In the biography “Warriors Don’t Cry” the public doesn’t care about equality. The nine African American teenagers also called the little rock nine. Among other people saw that equality doesn't exist.In 1957, the little rock nine chose to integrate the halls of all white Central High School . The segregationists announced that the nine students would be attending Central High. This caused many people to be angry and take action, in order to protect the nine. One of her friends called to say she would not be coming along with everyone else because of Ann’s annual christmas party (Pg.145 Marsha). Except Vince who came to the party, but was eager to leave to go to the christmas party. From there Melba decided she would no longer be friends with those who did not show up. One of the other conflicts were Melba wanted to stay home instead of go to school. “Mom im not going to school why asked her mom because it's not safe there” (pg.34 Melba). When she chose to sign her name to the integration sheet, she was unaware of what she had done. She did not realize she would undergo emotional and physical abuse from the Central High School students. She thought about staying home all the time. The last conflict is melba goes into the bathroom where other girls are. As she went into a stall the girls started to whisper and laugh. “She asked is something wrong” (pg.127 Melba). She heard something light then she smelt something burning. Melba tried to open the door but she could not, so she looked over the stall. The girls were holding the stall closed to where she could not get out. She saw that they had something in their hand and by the time she realized it was napkins set on fire, it was thrown at her. She had to think fast so she threw her books over the stall. The girls let
