Summary Of The Film 'Straight Outta Intercontinental'

The movie “Straight Outta Compton,” is a biography about a group of young men who turned their everyday life struggles in Compton into music. The group was called N.W.A (Niggas with Attitude) and their genre of music was gangsta rap, the main characters in the movie were Corey Hawkins (Dr. Dre), Jason Mitchell (Eazy-E), and O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Ice Cube). It was released on August 11, 2016 and the director was F. Gary Gary.

N.W.A gave minorities who were living in the urban and inner cities a voice. Who were being looked over and treated any kind of way by the government and the judicial system, they also rapper about poverty conditions, drug abuse, violence and police brutality.

How heavy the drugs were around and how the police treated them; slamming them onto the cars, on the ground, calling them the “N” word and also sending threats to them and their families. Once they got their first hit they didn’t know someone was plotting to become their manager just to take advantage of them. Known as Jerry Heller, having him around cause a lot of trouble between friends and business. He cheated everyone out of their money which caused Ice Cube to leave the group, even though he lacked the knowledge of somethings he know the way Jerry was handling business wasn’t right. Later on down the road Dr. Dre looked into the paper work and noticed everything didn’t add up either so he also left. Ice Cube continued in the music business with another group and he also started writing movies we know today named “Friday”, “Next Friday,”and he also wrote “Straight Outta Compton”. Dr. Dre became one of the best producers to work with he’s produced with some artist we know today who are 2pac, 50 cent and Snoop-Dogg. I would say for Eazy-E, he suffered because of Jerry Heller. He was losing money and didn’t know why, he had to downgrade housing and still had no knowledge of his so called manager taking everything he worked for.
