The historical fiction, “The Lions of Little Rock,” By Kristin Levine portrays a fictional story about a teenage girl living during a time where school integration was being addressed. While writing the fictional novel, Levine incorporates many accurate details while also altering components to make her novel fictional. The novel begins in Little Rock, Arkansas during the year 1958. Looking at this time period, details such as gender discrimination, the space race, Elvis Presley, and the rights of individual states were all accurately represented in the novel. Even historical figures such as President Eisenhower, Governor Faubus, and the Little Rock Nine were incorporated into the plot. But, the similarity between history and the fictional
