1. In the opening scene, how does the movie portray education in the southern colonies? They show the people as being educated to be loyal to the King. 2. What is the setting of the movie? The movie takes place in South Carolina in 1776, during the Revolutionary War. 3. What reservations do the colonists hold in regards to the French and Indian War? They fought in the war against the French for the King and then the King put a lot of taxes on them. Now they wonder why they fought for him. 4. What are the arguments being made about North Carolina going to war? a. Pro- They will be independent of the King and his taxes. They will rule themselves. b. Con- They don’t feel that North Carolina is at war like Massachusetts and Virginia. They
