It seemed as if no one knew what exactly struck the world. The news spoke of pandemic and gave advise on how to stay healthy. Most talked about diet and exercise. And how a fit body was less apt to become sick. But it was too late for those preventative measures. Politicians called for changes to health regulations. But none of it mattered. People still died more got sick. And at the rate it was spreading it wouldn't take long before the entirety of the world population was infected. Early on James decided that it was time to make himself scarce. He had already been hunting when the sickness began to spread. So once he had his prey he took her to the small cabin that he selected for this particular encounter. An encounter he knew she would not survive. The late thirties man had been hunting, as he called it, for his entire adult life. Though unlike the other greats, he had no patern, kept no schedule, and had no specific type or so it seemed. He met only the bare minimum of the typical traits of a serial killer. Though those same traits matched roughly half the male population in his age group. Independently wealthy his freedom of movement gave him reason to travel at will. Though he wondered to himself if his preparations would last. He only planned on keeping her for a few weeks. Just long enough to satisfy his craving. To fulfil his desires. And then dispose of her. But now he needed to prolong her life because of the state of the world. For all he knew she could be his last. He could have already been infected. So could she have been. Either way He could very well die before finishing with her. Though he did not believe that was the case. He had spent a great deal of time with people that ended up passing and he did watch her very closely while he was hunting, stalking
