In many of your poems I admire you incorporating your culture and expression of pride. It makes your writings unique and different from typical works. You allow your audience to be drawn into a new environment where they can learn about your culture and struggles, which I enjoy. Specifically in your poem Dear, Betty Brown you show a sense of pride in your culture by speaking about your last name. You discuss how many people have a hard time pronouncing your last name and make suggestion that you should either change or find something else to call you by. I can honestly relate with you on societies pressure to change your name to something they can pronounce. What do you hope your children will take and learn and gain from your writings about
