Introduction

In this paper, I will discuss the facts and issues of the Rixton case study.

Discussion

The case study of a community called Rixton revealed the department consisted of 36 police officers under the command of Chief Walton Eager (Cordner, 2016). The study indicated that the leadership of the department was poor, moreover, that there are insufficient supervision for patrol officers. The policies and procedures of the department were merely printed then displayed on a bulletin board already littered with a plethora of outdated materials all strewn upon it. The Chief made no effort to encourage his subordinates to read, understand, moreover, comply with his policy or procedure. According to the case study there were six officers that took risky as well as unprofessional approaches while conducting their duties. The six officers were described as belong to a cliche within the department that cause dismay for the other personnel attempting to carry out their duties appropriately. One officer, Moody Mickehaus, noted the lack of accountability within the ranks of the department caused him a large deal of distress.

There were two other officers interviewed during the case study, Luigi Pasternak and Brodie Fishbaum (Cordner, 2016). A remark about cracking someone’s head when dispatched to a disturbance call was made by Luigi Pasternak in the case study. Additionally, a remark was made by Brodie Fishbaum about his wanting to militarize the police department by requiring haircuts as well as combat boots for all
