Book Report A Stolen Life The Stolen Life is a memoir written by Jaycee Dugard. This story was published July 12, 2011. This book is a New York Times Best Seller and also was nominated for Goodreads Choice Awards Best Memoir & Autobiography. It takes place in the state of California in the year of 1991. The main character of the story is Jaycee Dugard. Some other important characters in this story are Phillip Garrido and Nancy Garrido. This story is based on Jaycee Dugard and how she spent her life most of her life. Jaycee was a average eleven year old girl with a normal life. She is very shy so it was hard for her to make friends in school. She lived with her mom, little sister, her cat monkey, and her step dad Carl

Through out the book Jaycee wrote in a journal she hid from Phillip so she would remember things if she ever escaped.
