“The Stolen Party,” written by Liliana Hecker, uses third person limited point of view to focus on one character’s specific thoughts and feelings. Third person limited point of view is a point of view that focuses in on the main characters thoughts and feelings. Third person limited point of view is used to demonstrate character traits of that character, and create an in-depth personality specific to that character. It gives the reader a better idea of what kind of person this specific character is. Third person limited point of view keeps the spotlight on Rosaura keeping the reader from questioning other characters. In, “The Stolen Party” Liliana Heker made Rosaura our main attention. Rosaura distracted the reader from the other characters real intentions, specifically Senora Ines. When Rosaura was content, it made the reader blind from what Senora Ines real intentions were. Liliana Heker did this by repeatedly expressing how joyful Rosaura was at the party. For example, on page three, paragraph five, Liliana Heker writes, “Rosaura thought that this was truly the most amusing party in the whole world.” This text demonstrates that Rosaura was truly overjoyed at the party, keeping the reader from anticipating the ending.
