It was one of the bloodiest battles in history. The story, the drummer boy of Shiloh talks about how Joby the protagonist wants to play for the army band but he is scared. The general motivates him and inspires him to play his drum in the war. Throughout the story Burberry mentions many symbolisms that relate to the battle in many ways. One of the first symbols are the peach blossoms. The peach blossoms are a big symbol throughout the story. They symbolize two different things. The first one is the date the battle took place in spring right when the peach blossoms bloom, April 6-7 1862. The second is about the peach blossom's color. There are two main colors in the peach blossoms, light pink and white. The white symbolizes purity and life, meanwhile light pink represents blood and death from the war.
