This book really helped me in understanding a criminal perspective. Specifically, I often ask myself what causes someone like Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, or Charles Manson to commit the crimes that they did. How can a person go that far to bring so much pain and suffering to other people? Through my research here and of some of those infamous individuals I am able to see that their lives were filled with trauma which may have in fact led them to committing the terrible acts that they did. While doing research on Ted Bundy specifically, I was able to find that his trauma was extensive. Through Ann Rule’s book “The Stranger Beside Me”, some of that trauma was revealed.
