Throughout chapters 8 and 9 of Your Inner Fish, Neil Shubin discusses the relationship between humans and other organisms, specifically the connection regarding the sense of smell and vision. Fossils and the geological record are powerful sources of evidence about the past. By extracting DNA from a tissue of varying species, the history of any part of the body, such as smelling, can be deciphered. Similar to fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, and birds, the human’s sense of smell is housed in the skull. Like the other animals, there are one or more holes through which air is brought inside and a set of specialized tissues where chemicals in the air can interact with neurons.
Your Inner Fish - Book Report The book “Your Inner Fish” written by Neil Shubin takes us through his search and knowledge of fossils as a paleontologist. The main idea is well, finding your inner fish or in scientific terms tracing back the evolution from fish to land living animals such as mammals. Neil shares his experience looking for important fossils that reveal our evolution into humans.
Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin is a great scientific read for those interested in evolution. It highlights the path of our evolutionary ancestors, right back to spineless worms called Amphioxus and even sea anemones. For someone who finds it fairly difficult to get excited about evolution, even though I do find it interesting, this book was the perfect starting block. I have studied evolution every year for the past 5 years and a lot of the content has been a repeat so my lack of enthusiasm is understandable. However, when I started reading this book, I found his writing captivating and felt his excitement through his words.

In the deep waters of Seaworld and the deep readings in Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neli Postman states many opinions towards his ideas about how the television impacts society and the documentary Blackfish may be one to fit under one of those categories. Blackfish, a documentary created by Manny O Productions and CNN Films, produced this film with the goal of shedding light on the treatment of orcas in captivity, specifically focusing on Tilikum’s living conditions and the incidents of aggression towards trainers at SeaWorld. Inspite of that, throughout the documentary's goal of being educational towards its viewers lies a complex interplay of entertainment and information proclamation. To fully understand the hints of the documentary Blackfish,

I think that Reinhart is exactly right when he says that a student should do the explaining and the teacher should be the listener. Although I know that this would be an effective strategy to use in my future classroom, I do think that this technique will be difficult to master. Being able to ask open-ended questions, process questions, and have patience to wait for a student to raise their hand and answer those difficult ones would probably be the hardest techniques for me to master. Although I know that it would come through consistent implementation and practice. Reinhart explains that through this technique, the teacher and the student must reverse the roles of the typical classroom; the teacher must become the listener and the student must become the explainer.
In 2013, a documentary called Blackfish was released to the public. This film was produced, written, and directed by a lady named Gabriela Cowperthwaite, as a way to show the world how poorly whales are treated and why they do not belong in captivity. Blackfish also shows how little people really know about the beautiful and highly intelligent orca whale itself. Her film was seen by many, and touched the hearts of a lot people, taking the debate of the topic to a higher level. The movie hits on a lot of main issues about captivity, told by reliable people, along with proven statistics to go along with them.
Everyone has their different beliefs about being an American. But how do one know about being American if they are not accustomed to being an American? Good observation relates to good communication because in order to be a good communicator one needs to be good at observing other ideas. If a person can observe a piece of text or art well, they are more able to interpret and make meaning from that information or image. If a person does not have this visual literacy, they do not have the ability to extend the meaning of an idea, and therefore they do not get the true significance behind that idea. In Asher Lev, Asher ask Jacob Kahn to “explain a man who has a master’s degree in political science, has traveled through half the world, has lived in Europe for years, and doesn't understand the first thing about painting,” (page 296.) Asher is referring to his father here, and he believers his father
“You were a big fish in a small pond, but this here is the ocean, and you’re drowning.” This quote is said by Amos Callaway in the film Big Fish directed by Tim Burton. A quote like this can have several different interpretations and meanings. After all the direct meaning of the quote in the story means that Edwards ambition was too large for the small town of Ashton and he needed to get out to fulfill those ambition, but he is not fulfilling that ambition (drowning) in life (ocean). Another interpretation this quote can have is that Edward was well prepared for life in the beginning but once he got to the big world he was ill prepared.
He could only go so far. His own power became his enemy at times. It says, “The same images that helped Mr.S remember information often prevented him from understanding it.” , In paragraph 13. It made him frustrated.

Fishing I have always loved fishing since the first time I was on the water, It is a fun sport that I think everyone should try. Fishing is amazing in so many ways sometimes the coolest thing about fishing is having that awesome fight and experiencing the action of feeling the fish tug down on the line as you trying to get it up into the boat. I hope to take fishing to the next level and go to college to be on the fishing league. There is a lot of different things about fishing like the kinds a bait like top water bait you can bottom fish which is usually the best technique for catfish. There are a couple key things you need to know when you are fishing One is that you need to be good at setting the hook, you will start to feel some tug then when the fish attacks you bait you want to yank up and set the hook catfish are usually the easiest because they attack it very hard.
Power is an essential aspect that should not be neglected and assumed in our societies. It is therefore the responsibility of every individual to understand how power operates, its methods and goals. Individuals can only understand the argument about power by clearly analyzing some of the insightful theories that they come upon. In this paper I will speak about two essays written about power by Berger and Foucault. In the articles "ways of seeing" Berger is very analytical when he explains about power.
