In the Tanner Humanities Center video of Neil deGrasse Tyson, Tyson discusses the problems with the American currency. His platform is that there should be scientists like him on the U.S currency, so they could be valued as people who contributed to who we are as a nation. While watching the video, I enjoyed his humor , and the way he used logic to explain how the currency should be labeled. Although, I disagree with Tyson’s view that scientists should be the ones on the currency, I believe that the currency should be changed. It should not only have scientists, but some politicians, artists, etc.

The second person I chose was Archimedes. He too, had many outstanding achievements and features, but I’m only highlighting two important things. He had created some of the first and most famous simple machines; the pulley, lever, and fulcrum. They are actually still used today, and they are amazing inventions for his time.

People’s memories are greatly affected by preconceptions and the emotions that come with them. When one’s memories are challenged the response is that they must be right, and everyone else must be wrong. Dr. Neil Degrasse Tyson shows this example when during his show “Cosmos” where he inaccurately uses a quote from two different speeches of President George Bush’s to express a science of how stars were named. The quote was implying prejudice tendencies in Mr. Bush right after 9/11, and when Dr. Tyson was confronted of his misinterpretation his overconfidence of his memories he instantly configured that the confronters were incorrect. After evidence proved of his misconception, he admitted to his mistake and publicly apologized.
Anderson was an African American aviator known as the “Father of Black Aviation.” (CAF RISE ABOVE®). When he was born he was very fascinated in airplanes, and as he grew older he wanted to learn how to fly but was struggling because no one would teach a black man to fly. Despite this, he knew aviation at ground school where he would learn airplane mechanics and hung around airports watching the white men whenever he could. At age of 22, he borrowed $2,500 from friends and relatives, bought a used airplane, and taught himself to fly.
There were many inventions, or new creations that were made throughout our history. These inventions greatly impacted and expanded towards America. Many inventors like Andrew Carnegie or Thomas Edison created new items that helped America expand on technology, traveling, businesses, better jobs, new opportunities, and many more. Some inventions like the creation of telephones, steel, oil, electricity, brakes, and other inventions help create how America is today. Throughout history America has had its ups and downs.

For this reason, Neil Armstrong is the most influential person of all time. He is influential for many reasons, some being how machines for space exploration are built, also because of his many achievements and accomplishments, and for how his life story. Neil Armstrong has become a very influential person because he made a big difference to how machines are built for space exploration.
“The airplane stays up because it doesn 't have time to fall” Wilbur Wright said this quote because he never gave up on inventing the first plane. Through his and orville’s trial and error they created and flew the first plane in mankind. Through their creation they changed the mode of transportation forever. The airplane now travels people, animals and luggage in a very short amount of time. The Wright Brothers didn 't just affect america but the whole world!
