Truman Capote’s “In Cold Blood” is a nonfiction novel that was well renowned during its release and its excellence is still told of today. “In Cold Blood” tells the true story of the murder of a family in their home in Holcomb, Kansas, in 1959. The murderers, Perry Smith and Dick Hickock, invaded the family’s home, ending the lives of a father, mother, daughter, and son with no apparent motive. The novel, which includes dialogues from the residents of Kansas and the murderers, follows the aftermath of the deaths of the Clutter family.
