Along with the everyday struggles of being a teenager with Turrets Syndrome, Michael Vey is on a journey fighting against man. He is one of 170 kids that were experimented on as newborns. With many of the children “obtaining deadly electrical powers,” the scientists that performed the tests on the infants are searching far and wide for the children so they can cover up their tracks. Michael, and his new friend Taylor, are invited to a private school that seems very suspicious. The two are onto what the kidnappers have planned and decide to back out of the offer. The men go through hell and back just to try and erase the names of Michael Vey and Taylor Ridley forever. From abducting Michael’s mother, to bribing Taylor with a long awaited visit with her biological mother, the psycho scientists will do anything to get Michael and Taylor in their grasp. …show more content…

Vey is informed that ‘Michael and Taylor are invited to the Elgen Academy in Pasadena, California.” She is immediately alarmed and escorts her son out to the parking lot to drive home. In the search for her keys, Mrs. Vey is held at gunpoint while a mock burglar attempts to steal her purse and car. “Michael is forced to use his powers to stop the man from hurting his mother,” but little does he know, the kidnappers are scouting him from a distance.
