The lead singer of Twenty One Pilots, Tyler Joseph uses pathos, tone change and shift in order to emphasize the true reality of adulthood because he is demonstrating the acts of being older to his intended audience. “Stressed Out“ is about the transition from childhood to adulthood. The music is varied with a wide range of styles being jammed into the only 3:45 song, in which Tyler and Josh, the two singers, revisit their childhood homes to ride their old three wheelers and perform in their old bedrooms which they first discovered their passion for music.
