Sleeping Schools Countless students all over the US struggle to keep their eyes open throughout the day because school classes start too early in the morning. If we were able to give an hour to students in the morning, we would see an increase in their physical mentality, their academic skill level, and an overall happier lifestyle. Many people will argue that starting school too late in the morning will cause after school activities -- such as sports and other clubs -- no time to meet before the night ends. But I must mention that we don’t need to push the start time that much later to see a huge improvement on student’s test scores, overall grades, and a student’s mood. The current school start time is unacceptable when thought about logically, and we must make the changes to have school start at a later time.
Schools should not start later. There are many reasons why they should not. Three reasons why schools should not start later are,the school day will end later,transportation would be hard,and there is health risks at state. These are three main reasons why school should not start later. If schools decide to start later one of the main reasons why they should not is the school day will end later.
High school starts at 7:30 in the morning in most places. High school students typically get up an hour before or earlier in order to get ready for the day ahead. High schools should begin classes an hour later so that students may have more rest so they may be more aware and more likely to learn. Teen could start school times later to improve their health, and live longer. If schools don’t take action know they will be the cause of why adolescents experience permanent damage. Therefore, more the ricks teen are taking of sleep deprives is depression, obesity, bad grades, etc, school need to take action NOW. If school are going to take action there decisions will be the best because it’s going to benefit students health in many way. They will re-store any information they learned during the day, it will also build muscle and bone while if they don’t sleep they will not learn anything or have strong muscles and bones.
Everybody on this planet can agree that sleep is a beautiful thing. Whether your an adult, a baby, a younger, or an older child, it seems pretty clear that everyone of us can agree that we need more sleep throughout the week. Kids should have there schools start at a later time because that means more sleep! Although many of our bodies don't want to fully go to bed early, we still may want to have more time to sleep in the morning. Kids that have activities outside of or after school, get home late enough, along with sometimes loads of homework, and don't get to bed until an unnecessary late time.
Starting school later can actually improve your learning, health and even your attitude and all of that can be changed by just starting school at 8:30AM. Kids don't start taking in information until 8:30AM because that is when the brain starts to really work. According to National sleep foundation ¨ teenagers are naturally inclined to stay up later and get up later in the morning.¨ ¨Starting school at 8:30 improves a student's chance of success,¨ according to the (National sleep foundation). Not only do teens want to sleep more, but sleeping more actually improves their health.
Have you ever woke up really early in the morning and thought, man school should really start later? Well I completely agree, for three reasons actually. My reasons are one when you start school your brain in not fully awake enough to learn to its fullest potential, two the absentee rate would decrease by a bunch, and three it would improve test scores by a dramatic fashion. In the next three paragraphs I will give you facts that will show you that these are in fact true. My first fact is that students aren’t awake enough in their first block class to really even get enough out of it.

Otherwise, students will start to get bad grades in school, there athletic performance might decrease and they would feel different about themselves. Plus health experts recommend that students should get at least nine hours of sleep every night to work their best. Also students are extremely stressed in the morning and have rushing to get to school on time, which causes more stress at school. Imagine this, usually you get 8 hours of sleep every night, but then basketball season starts and you start practicing every night.

You might say that that’s plenty of sleep, but studies show that teenagers need nine to nine and a half hours of sleep a night. Negative effects of sleep loss include impairments in mood, attention, memory, behavior and executive function… increase in caffeine use… sleep deprived-teens at higher risk of car accidents.” This means that by just adjusting the time by an hour students are more aware of their surroundings, more focused on what they’re learning, have a better mood, and executive function, and it reduces the amount of sugary snacks they have eat or drink to stay awake.
I’m pretty sure most people hate getting up super early in the morning to get to school. Am I right? Well I think it’s the worst! In my opinion, I think school should start later because it is better for one’s health and it’s better for students’ concentration in class.
