Aggression can sometimes be unjust and in some cases is a result from an individual's beliefs,presentations and/or frustrations. Frustrations can bring about aggression when the frustration is not relieved, and multiple attempts have been made to relive said frustration. A person’s beliefs may also cause unjust aggression through frustration. As an example if an individual were “stuck between a rock and a hard place”, where either option in a situation has a lose-lose outcome, frustration may build and, without being resolved, turn into aggression.

Events such as, stabbings, shootings, robberies, and abuse being shown by the news draws attention to these acts and, although negative attention, some children are able to associate attention with these kinds of affairs. There are also many influence outside of the media that can have a huge impact on an individual's aggression.Observing aggressive behaviors exhibited by parents, family members, friends and classmates can sometimes teach a young person, either verbally or by observation, to be aggressive. Some studies have shown, as supported by the book, that some children have a “monkey see-monkey do” learning process. This may cause some children to exhibit greater aggression later in life as a result of being subjected to many aggressive influences. Boys/men do not need to be aggressive as a way to “fit in” and be accepted in this day and age. While some boys/men may feel the need to be aggressive as a way to fit in, today’s society has begun promoting other aspects to be a part of masculinity that go against aggression. As an example some modes of media portray manliness as being able to be aware of emotions, to be compassionate to others, and taking the feelings of others into consideration as well.
