The book Daniel’s Story describes events that happened during the Holocaust through a fictional character, Daniel. The way the Nazis treated the Jewish people was awful and cruel. Many of these actions made me sick to my stomach, knowing that this actually happened. From his uncle’s ashes being sent in the mail, people beating up the Jews, a SS officer shooting a young boy, and the living conditions of the Jews in the ghetto, these are some of the events that were horrifying.

Q5: After I read this book, this made me understand how much the Jews has struggled in the camps. Before I read this book, I thought the concentration camps is where Jews had to work until there numbers on their arm would be called out to get killed. They would killed them only by using the gas chambers which that wasn't the case at all. A lot of Jews were killed by machine guns. Babies were used as target practices for shooting.
In the book “Jacob’s Rescue”, a true story written by Malka Drucker and Michael Halperin, a Jewish boy by the name of Jacob has a wonderful, happy, joyful life, a life that is taken from him, and his family, he lives in a ghetto. What remains of his family , him, his aunt, and his grandmother, don’t have enough food, his two remaining brothers were already smuggled out of the ghetto into hiding. Just as he was about to be. His aunt sneaks him out of the ghetto to a man named Alex Roslan, who takes him into the city of Warsaw, Poland where he introduces them to his family, the Roslans.

Steinweis, I found myself constantly agreeing with the author, along with learning new events that had surrounded the Holocaust.
This book shows how the Holocaust should be taught and not be forgotten, due to it being a prime example of human impureness. Humans learn off trial and error, how the Jewish population was affected, decrease in moral, and the unsettled tension are prime examples of such mistakes. The Jewish population was in jeopardy, therefore other races in the world are at risk of genocide as well and must take this event as a warning of what could happen. In the Auschwitz concentration camp, there was a room filled with shoes.
Kristallnacht Kristallnacht一 often known as the “night of broken glass”, or the “Night of Crystal”, is an extremely important event that occurred during the Holocaust. This took place all over Germany, and somewhat into Austria. Eventuating on November 9th and 10th, 1938, the tragic night was the turning point of the Holocaust. This night marked the change from peaceful protests, to violent riots. The significance of Kristallnacht changed the connotation of the Holocaust from sad, to devastating.
The Holocaust was an event that everyone knows was a terrible event in world history. To better understand the holocaust we need to know what led to Kristallnacht, what Kristallnacht was, and what happened during Kristallnacht. Herschel Grynspan was a young, Polish-Jew (Gilbert)(“Kristallnacht” Holocaust Encyclopedia). His family was expelled from their home and out of the country. His sister sent him a letter telling of the horrors she experienced.
With such dreadful conditions, the Jews began initiating resistance and uprisings. Even though the prisoners knew loss was unquestionable, they fought bravely and certain. The Jews wanted the future generation to know that they would never give up without a fight. The Nazi officers kept watch of the prisoners every second; the inhumanity of the guards murdered the spirit of the Jews. Because of the environment of the camps, a countless number of Jews died every day.
The majority of the experiences shared about life before the Holocaust was about normal life. They talked about going to work, taking care of the home, just living life, but as time continued the realized that their normal way of life was ending. Golly d. tells about he experience when she finally understood just how bad things where, and how worse they were going to get. During the time The Jews were hiding in there blocks when they realized that the officers left two rations of soup unattended. Then someone crawled to them after opening the block door. As the man was trying to get the soup he died there, then planes were flying overhead and started bombing the camp. “But we no longer feared death in any event not this particular death.
