To have me put my best work out front. And to have my eyes be scanners to memorize and save all of what you’re teaching. To Store in my hard drive to use for future reference.
For this week I have been using Zotero to organize and look up useful academic journals to use for my three new citations. Combined with Zotero, I have also been using Ebsco to help find some interesting topics related to the setting that I wanted to focus my points on. Zotero’s feature of allowing me to save the PDF and bookmarking useful articles was really convenient and saved me a lot of time. Zotero’s feature of creating bibliographies also saved me quite some time, as it allowed me to go straight to the annotations for my readings. Everything went smoothly and efficiently with the combination of Ebsco and Zotero together.
It is almost the end of the day in which we end with my second favorite lesson. Math with Mr. Berger. Again although my class has been yelled at alot, math was really fun. We learned about tessellation which is formed by repeating one or more shapes so they fit together without leaving any gaps or overlapping. We drew those and it was so fun.
The freedom summer, also known as the Mississippi Summer project, was the nonviolent attempt for a voter registration drive organized by a series of civil rights organizations, those including Congress on Racial Equality (CORE), the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). This historical event took place in Mississippi in the summer of 1964. The main focus of this project was, as mention earlier, the voter registration drive, which intended to gather as many colored Mississippians to join the electoral register. But as suspected, may of this registration were denied by the officials, which was a callous act of injustice. As a result, the organizers formed
AVID is a program not intended for everyone. This program exposes you to a variety of skills and mastery for adolescents desiring to attend college. Avid focuses around organization, teamwork, and for you to critically think. These skills are new to many and are provenly beneficial, however these skills do not favor those that have already had these skills and are show casing their full potential. Therefore, Avid is not for me since it interferes with my academic courses, mastery of avid skills and would not be beneficial for me because I have gained much of the skills and would rather interfer than assist.
.On any given day there will be a group of students working on their associates degrees that have been there long before I started to attend Wayne County Community College. They are a little older than I am, most being around the age of 23. They spend their time playing video games while I stand mind going to class. I consider this group to be friends but I am scared this is what my future will be like if I remain at this institution.
How did this teach me about science? Well, I think this helped me teach me about science because, Its like how do you get to this, to this. For example:
The day I learned about Atlantic Project, I was in loved with the amazing opportunity to shadow abroad, I watched the project’s videos on YouTube over and over, and I could not wait for the applications to start. It is fantastic for a pre-medical student as me because it helps me to step ahead to a career that I fall in love at a very young age. In two years or less I will graduate from a Bachelor in Biology, I am currently medical assistant, and I been volunteer during this two last years of college. I always get something positive from every of my volunteer and clinical experience that enhance my love every day more to my future career, and I know that if I am part of the Atlantic project, it will not be the exception. One important quality
For my mindful reflection journal this week I decided to work on my communication with my wife. My wife and I have been together for six year now. One of the things we do best is talking. Though we are great at talking, we have lost our way when it communications to positive communication. We tend to have little arguments, though normal, we noticed that we bicker more than we would like to.
Week Ten Reflection Blog While reading chapters twelve and thirteen of Development of Children and Adolescents, the social information processing model stuck out to me for a few reasons. First, the theory maps the clear steps one must take in order to carry out behaviors. In addition, it provides understanding as to why there may be gaps in one’s reactions. Therefore, the model describes how individuals can help others recognize the steps they are missing.
Lastly, it can make learning enjoyable. so the next time you failed or made a mistake, this is not a setback, but an opportunity to learn to achieve greater
Attending the NEOBIF conference this past Friday was a really valuable experience with lessons I can carry with me into my career in the future. I was surprised that the community was so strong and that in some cases, you could not tell who had had a traumatic brain injury and who had not. Even though I feel that I had the skills to be able to speak with new people to begin with, I feel as though I gained a better understanding on how to speak with people that I am just meeting for the first time. I feel as though I gained a better knowledge about the diversity of traumatic brain injury as well. Some of the most valuable knowledge I gained was speaking with Kevin Pearce and asking him what he would like his therapists to know.
One activity I had never seen before was punching to see if words rhymed. Students try to rhyme a word that the teacher said and the whole class would “punch” the words. Another great activity that could be used in any grade level is a activity called Q.T. quizzes. All the students put their heads down so they can 't see any other students and they answer the question with their thumbs being up or down. This is a way for the teacher to evaluate what their students actually learned
The experience as a whole enabled me see how much I enjoy working through things that initially present a
